Integer

Integers include positive numbers, their negative opposites, and 0. Integers do not include decimals. Fractions are only integers if they can be simplified to have a denominator of 1.

Irrational Number

Irrational numbers include decimals that do not terminate or repeat, and numbers that can not be written as a fraction or a quotient of two integers.

Natural Number

Natural numbers are the positive whole integers. Natural numbers do not include 0. These are the numbers you use to count objects.

Rational Number

Rational numbers can be written as the fraction or quotient of two integers. When the fraction is divided the quotient is a terminating decimal or a repeating decimal.

Real Number

Real numbers include all rational and irrational numbers. Rational and irrational numbers are subsets of real numbers.
